I love summer…love waking up when it is light, wearing a skirt without nylons, but, as much as I love summer by the end of August I am sick of my summer wardrobe and am longing for a change. The Meese Fall Forward Fashion Show was a perfect antidote for my longing for a taste of fall fashion. Tuesday evening, MEESE strutted fall fashion outside their store on the banks of the Sturgeon River.
Meese is 100% Canadian and sells their own line, SESSA Wearables, as well as lines from other Canadian Designers. The fashion show showcased designs by Preloved, Magdilene, Broken Doll and more. The Preloved mittens really caught my attention, as well as their sweaters that were all recycled from other sweaters…what a way to turn an old outdated garment into a new piece for fall. Broken Doll from Calgary is committed to using eco fabrics and many of their pieces were made from bamboo, tencel and organic cotton. Loved the warm colours for fall, the leather detailing and the ruched skirts that were so flattering on all body types. I was also very pleased to see models from size 0 to 16, and of all ages. Certainly nothing inspires you to purchase more than a seeing a woman of a similar age modeling an outfit that has caught your eye. Stores like MEESE definitely add to St. Albert’s uniqueness and help to make St. Albert such a special place to live. www.meeseclothing.com

Re: Fall Fashion
Thanks for introducing me to Meese. I'll be headed to St. Albert to check out the store and indulge in an upcycled sweater.
